Rwandan Genocide

The Rwandan Genocide took place in April of 1994.  Over the course of approximately 100 days, hundreds of thousands of Rwanda's Tutsi and politically moderate Hutu's were brutally murdered by the Hutu power group, Akazu.  Beginning on April 6, 1994, the killings lasted until mid July of 1994.  Estimates indicate a death toll between 800,000 and 1,000,000, and many more were mutilated, maimed, or physically scarred for life.
